Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Secures Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Awards.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive season.
The twenty-seven-year-old secured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – which included successfully defending the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles championship.
A Year of High Performance
Across the season, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the world number one, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she became the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.
Historic Numbers
Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and earned a historic eleven million pounds in earnings.
She received almost eighty percent of the votes submitted by international tennis media.
On 28 December, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "help bring women's tennis to a new level".

- Returning Star of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, 28, was voted after taking a extended hiatus after the birth of her first child and making her comeback to the sport at the start of this year.
- Rookie of the Year: Canadian 19-year-old Victoria Mboko received the award after starting the season positioned beyond the world's top 300 and rising to world number 18.
- Partnership of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were selected after capturing their second career Grand Slam title together.
- Biggest Leap of the Year: Amanda Anisimova was named after making five finals.
Last week, Carlos Alcaraz won three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, including the year-end number one award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as fans' favourite for a third time.
